What we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account details: your email and a hashed password — we never store your password as plain text. Anything you add to your Brand Kit: colors, a name and a logo you upload. If you join the launch list or request founding access, the email (and name / social link) you give us.
Usage analytics
We use PostHog through a first-party relay to understand page views and feature use. This includes automatic capture of the elements you click, and an approximate location (country, region and city) that PostHog derives from your IP address. Like any web service, our server also sees your IP address in standard technical logs and uses it for rate limiting that protects the service from abuse. We never use it to identify you personally or to build a profile of you. When you are signed in, events are linked to a random account identifier so we can see how the Studio is actually used; we do not send your email address to PostHog. Session recording is turned off, and we never capture query strings or URL fragments. We do not run ads and we do not sell your data.
Cookies and local storage
A session cookie keeps you signed in, and a preference cookie remembers your language. Local storage on your device remembers your theme, small product hints (such as whether you have already seen the editor tour), and a random visitor identifier that helps us count visits. There are no advertising cookies.
Where your data lives
On our own server (VPS) in the EU. Analytics are processed by PostHog. Transactional email (for example your welcome message) is sent through our email provider. When paid billing launches, a payment provider will act as merchant of record for purchases.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, from Studio → Account. It asks for your password first. Access then stops immediately, every device is signed out, and the browser you delete from forgets its analytics and visitor identifiers straight away. You have 7 days to change your mind — sign in and cancel, and nothing is lost. After those 7 days your projects, brand kits, exports and uploaded logos are erased permanently, and always within 30 days of your request. Cancelling a Pro subscription is a separate thing and deletes nothing: it simply moves you to the Free plan.
What we keep after deletion
Payment and tax records where the law requires us to keep them — your name, email and account link are removed from them, so what remains is an amount and a payment reference that no longer point to a person. A minimal deletion record: when deletion was requested and completed, stored with a one-way digest of your email address that can confirm a deletion happened but cannot be turned back into your address. Analytics events recorded before deletion stay in our analytics tool, but only under a random identifier — deleting your account destroys the record that connected that identifier to you, so those events no longer point to a person either. And if you applied to the Founding Creator programme, your application (name, email, social link) is kept as part of the programme record even after account deletion — email [email protected] and we will remove it too. There is no shadow profile.
Backups
Backups live on our own server, readable only by the server administrator, and expire on a short rotation — currently about seven days. We do not open a backup to remove one person from it, so a copy of your data can still exist inside a backup for that short period after deletion, until it expires and is destroyed. We would rather say this plainly than imply an instant erasure we cannot deliver.
If you stop using PitchMath
After 12 months without signing in we will email you to ask whether you still want the account. If there is still no sign-in six months after that, we delete it using the same process described above.
Your rights
You can delete your account yourself at any time from Studio → Account. You can also ask what we hold about you or have it corrected — email [email protected] from your account address. You can leave the launch list at any time.
